History and Achievements

Below is the path of KCA's activities.

KCA was established as the national association on June, 3rd, 2000 by scholars and specialists who desire all citizens' mental health, growth and development through counseling in Korea.

2022
Opened the Korean Counseling Association website for the general public and renewed the member-only website
『JAPC』 international academic journal has been selected as a 'Registered Journal' for continuous evaluation by the National Research Foundation of Korea.
Conducting social crisis and disaster counseling training three times throughout the year
Operating free psychological counseling called [Maum Call] for patient guardians
[ChildFund Korea] Operating psychological counseling by visiting the family
Conducted a nationwide survey for the institutionalization of psychological counseling services
[Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs] Participated in the consultation group to discuss the establishment of a system for revitalizing psychological services
Presentation on the proposal of the Psychological Counselor Act
Signed MOU with Gyeonggi-do Local Community Service Support Group (to cooperate in vitalizing the counseling field and improving professionalism)
Opened the Korean Counseling Association website for the general public
Held an international academic conference (Atlanta, USA)

『Counseling Studies: Cases and Practices』 Selected as 'Registered Journal' by the National Research Foundation of Korea
Conducted counseling education on social crisis and disaster three times through the year
[Maeum Call] Free psychological counseling for caregivers of patients
Conducted a full investigation on sexual violence and violence against players belonging to the Korea Football Association
Surveyed the current status of human resources for professional counselors (evidence data for establishing counseling policies)
Publication of special academic journals related to the legalization of psychological counseling three times
Operating TFT for 『Psychological Counseling Law Enactment』
